fancy a bit of choof?

Well I didn’t but I went along for the ride anyway. My dear brother finally had to go back to Australia and wanted one last visit to Amsterdam. So, just for him, I joined him, Matt, Gav and Tim for a weekend in the Dam!

Quite forward thinking the Dutch…

We hired bikes (you pedal backwards to brake, they’re super comfy to ride and I want one) and spent the afternoon cycling round the canals, marvelling at the wonky old buildings.

Had pancakes and Gav decided on a dish from the children’s menu (best not to think much about why). To his delight he received a bright red fireman hat, which he wore for the rest of the day and evening. Doesn’t it go well with his pink shirt? Kept us well entertained! Thanks Gav!

Sunday morning breakfasted well, and afterwards outside found this excellent example of too much time, not enough sense. Luvly.

A touch too much grass perhaps? ;)

Went to the house where Rembrandt lived – I learnt back then they slept in a sitting position as they believed if they lay down all the blood would rush to the head and they’d die. Went to a market, had a beer with an Australian friend of Gav, decided I must return some day and do the galleries properly. Two days over too soon…
