Once a month one may tour the magnificent art deco Manchester Unity building on the corner of Collins and Swanston Streets.

Fun fact: the tower at the top is sculptural and is not load bearing. That was how the architects got a round the height restrictions of the time. There goes my fantasy to live in it and have a grand piano in the top!

Here’s a shot of part of Smile Solution’s excellent art deco glassware collection, kept in the restored board room on the top floor.

The rest of my photos didn’t pass muster, I’ll have to go again with my new lenses 🙂
