tree trash…

Last weekend I discovered just how easy it is to break your elbow without even hitting it on something (foosh oh foosh you wily old goat). My inner tomboy took over during a bike ride and one slow speed accident later I’m feeling like a big idiot and summer is wrecked. Suffice to say it’s feminine all the way from now on. (‘Wrecked’ is a bit of an overstatement 🙂 )

With an elbow fracture is it takes an hour or so to start swelling and hurting. So we kept on riding, discovered we could get down into a creek canal and shortly came across a whole tree up against a bridge, covered with trapped trash and other debris. Notice how absolutely jammed full the shopping trolley is. Must have been quite a torrent the day this came to rest.

Baddaginnie dusk…

windy, cold and quiet at Station Pier…

With the Spirit of Tasmania looming beside us we wore ourselves out fighting the wind at Port Melbourne’s Station Pier

countryside…

Tiny cygnets swimming outside our place, birdlife near Bunga Arm’s Steamer Landing including the pelican colony, sweet baby jellyfish (there were swarms of these everywhere), the Ninety Mile Beach.

sand blown…

Enjoying getting to the beach more now the weather is improving, or not improving as was the case yesterday. 7 weeks into this ridiculous illness it’s been a good way to get some fresh air and feel like I’m doing something with my time without getting exhausted. So, new mothers, this is a plea from me – please immunise your babies for whooping cough. A vile illness and you’ll be horrified to watch your little’n going through what I’ve been through (or maybe even dying, yes no joke).

Yesterday at St Kilda Beach the wind whipped up the sand, bands of rain flowed by, children tore around like mini-tornados not giving a toss, then the setting sun lit it all up like a miracle. There’s still sand in my hair.

Not too shabby for a 2 year old Sony Ericsson mobile phone camera hey.

End of a hot weekend, gentle walk, sea air, thoughts.
